My name is Adele. I started making teddy bears and miniatures in the early 1980’s – gosh, that long ago! In 1993 my husband and I opened a shop in Montrose, in the foothills of the beautiful Dandenong Ranges in Victoria. The Serendipity Collection was created. What an incredible experience it was. We had so many valued customers, many became close friends.
Anyone who visited our shop will know of my collection “of everything”. The shop was named The Serendipity Collection. We had this most wonderful, very large vintage cabinet inherited when we purchased the building. It was perfect to show off anything bear and toy related and of course, whilst there, I kept adding to it. We are now retired and I really have to downsize and hence the start of my blog.
I have the last of my mohair to sell, glass eyes, teddy bear making goodies and my collection “of everything” to downsize.
We have moved from the Dandenongs to Bayside and I have begun sketching, patchwork and sewing in my retirement. I also have purchased a Scan and Cut and am discovering card and related paper crafts. My husband, Bruce, is enjoying photography especially when we travel. I will more than likely share some of my “dabblings” with you and the odd travel photo.
I hope you enjoy and revisit my blog on a regular basis.
7 August, 2020: After several efforts I have finally worked out how to work parts of the “Blog” and now can actually show what I am depleting. The prices are greatly reduced on the bear making fabrics and accessories. Please contact me via any of the contact forms if there is anything I might be able to help you with including guidance with making your bears.
